Mazix - Ilisu - Saki
Orux map screenshot:
BLUE line is the planned route
RED line is the actual route we drove
We decide not to search for the 40m waterfall, since we got the information, in Azerbaijani language, that their isn't enough water now in August.
We got convinced after we see the little water coming down at the waterfall in Ilisu.
Not a lot of water in the river
Waterpipe system in Ilisu, the same as in all villages in Azerbaijan and in Georgia
Did we ever think that the roads we drove till now are rough? Azerbaijani 's are really brave and their cars like bulldozers. ( of course there are many fancy expensive cars) .
We hire a car, not a jeep, to drive us up to the 54m Ram Rama Waterfall in Ilisu. Amazing, how this "Lada" drove up the steep path, over big stones.
Tara a real tough traveller dog
Not really impressive.... sure in spring a lot of water is coming down
Saki has a very nice street with nice renovated houses....
... the summer residence of Mohamed Hosain Khan built 1762 in persian style is beautiful
Unfortunately it's forbidden to take pictures inside the palace. All the walls and ceilings are decorated beautifully with flower and animal motives. The wooden windows with coloured glass mosaic give a special light in the rooms.

In Saki we find Mustafabay's Camping through "iOverlander" app. Their is no sign and the road not easy to drive, but thanks to Google maps we find the place.
The Camping used to be a children's summer camp in Sowjet times and is quite a ruin now, but in a charming nature with a very nice team, keen to satisfy the guests. The kitchen is not really high hygienic standard, but the food is nice and tasty. The soul of the place is the manager Tarlan Sheki, who speaks English and is very charming. I don't want to describe the standard of toilets. I am happy to have our own.
Mr. Tarlan organized, that in the morning Mr. Mourad opens one of the new build guestrooms with a very clean bathroom for us and serves us a good breakfast. Perfect!
Tara so much suspicious about the barking puppies in the afternoon ....
