The workshop in Thessaloniki has received the compressor from Athens in the morning as promised.  The mechanic checks the car and says the compressor is ok, no need to change, so we decide that we will not install the overpriced part.
We search the Internet and find out that this compressor is less than 200eur.
Could it be that the price 380eur the workshop in Larissa asked for is double, because it's a unique part only one piece sold in Athens and does the compressor really needs to be changed or he wanted to dump the foreigners?!

Happy that we saved time we drive further on towards the turkish border with a break in Kavala, the city where Muhammed Ali Pascha, the ruler of Egypt, was born in 1769.

Muhammed Ali Paschas birth house is very good restored, with a great view till the island of Thassos

The old town of Kavala is very charming with small steep paths, nicely renovated houses and houses which are still waiting to be restored.

House for sale!

We decide to stay over night near the turkish border in Makri, another beautiful campsite above the harbour.
