Healthy, that neither Hosain, Tara nor me got sick or hurt any time.
Lucky, that our trustful BlueBird, who never ever let us down, always carried us safe over all kind of roads.
Grateful, that we have the opportunity in our life to make such interesting trips.

Bosnia i Herzegovina from 22 July till 25 July 2019

Gradiska - Jacje - Blagaj - Kravica - River Nevretna - Stolac

Wonderful nature ... the street is a good start for us to train driving on steep serpentine streets and passing...

...through really really dark narrow tunnels

Jajce, famous for the 28m high waterfall

The Derwish Monastery in Blagaj, founded in the 15th/16th century, is located beside the spring "Velo Bune" with ice cold water coming out of the mountain.

Montenegro from 25 July till 28 July 2019

Kotor Bay - Vesto - Lusticia Bay - Ulcinj

Camping in Vesto located near Lusticia Bay with a 1day relaxation break direct at the sea

Albania from 28 July till 03 August 2019

Shkoder - Kruja - Sari Saltik - Kap Rodon - Saint Michelle - Osum Canyon - Appalonia - Himarë - Livadeh - Shën Vasil - Blue Eye - Gjirokaster - Labova e Kryrit

The first interesting castle we want to visit is Rozafa Castle in Shkoder at Skutari lake. Now the adventure starts. We try to park our van beneath the hill to walk up to the castle,  but no parking, so a friendly man advises us to drive up to park. The narrow steep street with cars coming down is already a challenge, but reaching the dead end gives us shock waves. No place to turn. It takes us nearly half an hour on a slippy steep narrow street, with the help of many helpful Albanians and my good driver Hosain, to park the van into a suitable position to be able to return back.

Sari Saltik, a Derwish Sactuary from 13th century, situated on 1.176m on top of the mountain Mali I Krujes, which rises over the old mountain city of Kruja. The serpentine street leading from Kruja up to the Sanctuary is breathtaking. Beautiful wild nature.

We find the perfect place to camp near the Sanctuary accompanied by heavy rain and thunderstorm in the night. In the morning we find ourselves in the middle of a small lake with and 16°C and strong fog... very mystic

After the fog lightens, we decide to take advantage and drive down the mountain, but on the way down, the street is blocked by a hugh rock ,that came down due to the heavy rain. We were lucky that we didn't pass by earlier at that time. The workers did their best to open a narrow passage to let us pass. With belly ache we drive through, with the fear that more rocks could come down.

The road to the canyon of the river Osum is another challenge with its narrow street, especially when a truck or bus in full speed comes around the corner. But the amazing views are worth this challenge

We take a 1 one day break at a lovely camp site beside the river Osum

Absolutely worth to drive the way up to the village Labova e Kryrit to visit the byzantine church dating back to the 6th century. We can't believe to find such beauty and art in this church in such a small village with only 50 residents. A Juwel in the mountains of Albania. The perfect highlight to end our trip in Albania

Camp site memories near Gjirokaster, Tara and her Albanian love

Greece from 03 August till 09 August 2019

Zagori villages - Aristi - Pools of Rogovo - Voidomatis River - Vikos Canyon - Meteora Monasteries - Pilion - Varikou Beach - Makri

The Vikos-Aóos Nationalpark is unique in its beauty and untouched wilderness. The Vikos canyon with the Voidomatis river is 10km long and between 600 to 1000m steep. As per Guinness book it is the deepest canyon in the world.

The Meteora Monasteries are one of Greece's highlights to visit, not only because of the breathtaking constructions of the buildings, but of the huge bizarre rockformations

Waking up surrounded by beautiful horses

Navigation system sometimes navigates us through dirt roads to dead ends

Lovely fish restaurant in a small bay in Pilion, Apios Andreas

This is how Octopus is prepared

Beautiful camp site beside the sea at Pilion, Marathias

Tara having fun at Varikou Beach

Daily routine and small things we like to remember

The cockpit

Our favourite daily on the Road-Snack

Lunch picknick with our famous self made tuna salad

We have to protect the comp from the heat of the sun

Hosain always washes the dishes either at the sea ...
