From 16 September till 22 September 2019
Nemrut Dagci - Kumkuya Beach - Narlikuyu Beach - Büyükeceli Beach - Manavgat Beach - Makivent Beach - Ölüdeniz Forest - Ephesos Beach
After 2 month filled with history, culture, nature and many many kilometres we need a mental and physical break. On the way down from Nemrut Dagci we visit our last archelogical site for the next coming days. Arsemia the summer capital of the country in 300 B.C. The relief of Appolon - Mithras (God of light)
...the fortress from far away ...
.... a funeral...
...Amazing nature...
On the way to enjoy the Mediterranean Sea, but there is a bridge on the way, that has to be visited. A Roman bridge built over Cendere River by the XVI legion in the time of the roman emperor Semtimius Severus dating 193-211 A.D.
Beside our sightseeing, Tara has her cultural exchange with a little puppy

The Mediterranean Sea is waiting for us!
Kumkuya Beach another nice place to camp, not so far away from civilisation...

...Just reaching the sea over the rocks is only for brave men
17 September 2019
Narlikuyu Beach with a beautiful rocky landscape and clear water attracts us...
...to camp just beside the sea...
...relax...
...look out for turtles...
...watch locals watching others
This nice spot doesn't only attract us. It's the photoshooting place for the newly married. Tara is so afraid of this bride decorated in lots of white voile, that she wouldn't stop barking at her...
... but then Tara gets used to this kind of outfit and watches the defile of brides and grooms passing by as interested as we do untill she falls asleep.
It's a bizarre, funny scenery. One couple after the other arriving, accompanied by their personal photographer to take their wedding photos on the same spots.
Within 2 hours till sunset we counted around 20 couples.
Time to take our own photos...

...and finish the day with a delicious seafood dinner at the nearby restaurant
18 September 2019
Büyükeceli Beach with local compounds is now, after the summer holidays nearly empty, so we can camp direct next to the beach, enjoying the warm water
19 September 2019
Mamure Kalesi is direct on our way, so we decide to have a look at the archelogical site, but unfortunately it is closed for renovation and we are only allowed to have a quick look inside...
...watch the feeding of turtles...
.... continue our beach trip driving over the mountains...
...through endless banana plantations...
... till we reach Manavgat Beach located between Analya and Antalya, the turkish Riviera. The location we choose is at the end of a chain of hotels in the dunes next to the sea, very nice and clean.
There are some tourists from the nearby Hotels at daytime, but in the evening we are alone.
Hosain and Tara having a serious talk what to do next
Tara tired from working
20 September 2019
The coast between Antalya and Fethiye is beautiful with serpentine streets going high up and steep down the mountains, reaching the sea with little access to the sea.
With some luck we find a nice place to camp in this tight bay, Makivent Beach, beside the slipway for private small boats, with a great view
For the night a fisher boat anchors beside us with the help of Hosain. They give us a tasty melone and we enjoy the nice evening with barbecue and a fresh breeze.
In the morning, it is Saturday we wake up from the people, who use the slipway to bring their boats in the water and park around us
22 September 2019
In the non touristic areas every space is used for intensive agriculture in green houses
Every corner with anice accessible sandy beach is used for leisure centres
On Google Earth we spot a wide sandy beach to stay. No way to drive over this huge sand dune to the beach.
The sand is so hot, that Tara seeks shadow wherever she can
Ölüdeniz is a overcrowded touristic centre with no possibility to camp, but up in the mountain above the town we find a Camping through iOverlander app. Not easy to drive up to the place
...rewarded with a beautiful view over the bay...
... and a wonderful sunset
In the evening we enjoy tea from the Samowar...
...accompanied by guitar music and singing of turkish songs from a group of young men around a nice bonfire
In the morning we get a good breakfast. Tara got used to all the chicken running around the camping without following them, but she cannot resist her instinct to run after cats
23 September 2019
Today is the last day that we can enjoy the ruff coastline of Turkey, before wereach our last chill out place beside the sea near Fethiye.
There is great sandy beach near the archelogical site of Ephesos with some locals at daytime and of course the usual just married couples who take their wedding photos there till sunset
One of the many street dogs from this area
The evening is ours again. Our last beach leasure time with barbecue and a glass of wine...
... before we visit Ephesos tomorrow and then return back home slowly
